Crafted by renowned silversmiths Francis Howard, this collectible silver hippopotamus is full of character. He is made using the lost wax technique, which results in abeautifully intricate model – look at the wonderful details of the hippo’s face. To finish, he has been polished to perfection. Family-run silversmiths Francis Howard has been crafting exquisite silverware since 1870. The company is still run by Howard family today, from the Sheffield premises they acquired in 1873.

The silver hippo comes in a smart gift box, ready to give as a present.

Sheffield silversmiths Francis Howard have been crafting beautiful silverware since 1870. Today, the fifth generation of the Howard family run the company, which recently celebrated its 150-year anniversary.

Their stunning pieces range from graceful tableware to incredibly detailed sporting figurines. Francis Howard’s skilled craftsmen use traditional skills to work on the pieces, many of which are hand-made. Each finished item is hallmarked at the Sheffield Assay Office.
