Celebrate the long life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, with this commemorative enamel box by Halcyon Days. The lid features a triptych of the young Lady Elizabeth Bowes Lyon in 1923, the year of her marriage to the future King George VI. The original painting is by Samuel Warburton, who was famous for his portrait miniatures. The lavender base and gilt details complement the tones of the painting. The rectangular box is made in Bilston, famous for being the heart of British enamelling craft. The box is made from copper with an enamel coating, a technique that brings out the vibrant colours of the triptych.
