If you are searching for a gift for a keen angler, you’ve found the perfect present: a pair of gilt-plated enamel cufflinks from Halcyon Days. These exquisite cufflinks are hand-painted with an incredibly detailed figure on his way to catch some fish. Reminiscent of Walton’s Compleat Angler, the fisherman is dressed in period clothes and carries rods and a net.
The oval cufflinks were crafted in Bilston, the traditional heart of British enamelling. This historic technique creates a perfect surface for hand painting, and gives the colours a stunning depth.
The cufflinks are held securely in place with a classic post fastening, also in gilt plate. They are presented in a gift box.
Halcyon Days was established in London’s Mayfair in 1950. The company revived the traditional art of enamelling on copper, a technique that creates beautiful, vibrant colours. While Halcyon Days makes a variety of jewellery and luxury giftware, it’s nest-known for its exquisite enamel boxes.
As well as being loved by collectors all over the world, Halcyon Days is one of only 14 companies to hold all three Royal Warrants, for Objets D’Art. At Bonds, we have a selection of their appealing hand-painted boxes and bonbonnieres.
