Diana Princess Of Wales Kensington Palace by Halcyon Days
This exquisite enamel box from Halcyon Days was created to mark the 10th anniversary of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, on 1 August 1997.
The rectangular box features a painting of the gilded wrought iron gates of Diana’s London home at Kensington Palace. It was here that many of the nation’s mourners laid flowers, wreaths and tributes to the “people’s princess”. The inside of the lid features a bouquet of flowers inspired by those left at the gates. The interior and base of the box are in a pretty sky-blue shade.
Crafted in Bilston, once the heart of Britain’s enamelling industry, the box uses the traditional technique of enamel on copper.
