Halcyon Days A Century Of Scouting A Ripping Yarn Enamel Box
Celebrate a century of the Scouting Movement with this charming enamel box from Halcyon Days. The Scouts was founded in 1907 by Lord Robert Baden Powell, and is still attended by thousands of children today.
The commemorative box features four boys in scouting uniform sharing stories in a tent. The original painting is entitled A Ripping Yarn, and is by artist Ernest Stafford Carlos. The rectangular box has a rich rust colour base and a gleaming gilt rim.
Crafted in Bilston, once the heart of Britain’s enamelling industry, the box uses the traditional technique of enamel on copper.
