Halcyon Days Limited Edition Queen Victoria and Prince Albert Enamel Box
Featuring a portrait of Prince Albert, this charming Halcyon Days enamel box celebrates the 150th anniversary of his becoming Prince Consort.
Queen Victoria granted the title of Prince Consort to her husband on 25 June 1857. There’s a portrait of the young Queen in full regalia on the inside of the lid. The base of the enamel box is coloured a rich, royal red, with a contrasting gilt rim.
Crafted in Bilston, once the heart of Britain’s enamelling industry, the box is made using the traditional technique of enamel on copper. This creates the perfect surface for paint, enhancing the vibrant colours of the portraits.
