Halcyon Days Enamel Box Celebrating the Diamond Wedding Anniversary of HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. The Gold and Beige decoration on this Charming Piece of Memorabelia was Inspired by The Queens embroidered Ivory Silk Wedding Dress and Train designed by Norman Hartnell. He in turn found inspiration for his embroidery design in the floral gown worn by the goddess Flora in Botticellis Primavera to symbolise rebirth and growth after the Second World War. The dress was decorated with fine white crystal beads and over ten thousand seed pearls.
The Lid has a Gold Plated Mount and in the Centre are the Gold Coloured Silhouetted Images of the HM Queen Elizabeth and HRH Prince Phillip and above their heads are the entwined their initials E P
Written Inside the Lid of the Box are the words 1947 2007 In celebration of the Diamond Wedding Anniversary of HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH The Prince Philip married in Westminster Abbey on 20th November 1947 On the inside of the box at the back are painted Her Majestys Coat of Arms and written in the bottom of the box is Decoration inspired by The Queens embroidered ivory satin wedding dress designed by Norman Hartnell.
